Gouramis (especially those who have Trichogaster T) can be very territorial, which probably what you see. Since both are new, the gourami compete to establish their dominance over the Platia too. If there are many hiding places and large shrubs in the tank and the tank is large enough (more than 30 gallons for the two gold gouramis to be mixed with other fish) have to leave at the end of the aggression, perhaps weeks before.
